    Paul any lorry park that charges is not an option for many drivers. The usual charge is about £25 per night and as most East European drivers are only paid whilst the wheels are turning, this equates to about 40% of their daily pay.
    No one has yet mentioned another reason for the delays is that ferries are also'stacked' in an attempt to get into either Calais or Dover, so perhaps Ramsgate is an option, it certainly has the infrastructure to access their port.
    I do speak with first hand experience of 'stack' and this evening will be trying to get to Jerez by way of Calais and like many freight drivers I have a timed critical delivery, so any delay creates problems for customer.
