A wild guess at Roger. So much for his next, "where was I standing when..." post.

Ah yes..I would say Roger too. I think I recognise the clothes from recent times when he was addressing the litter dumping situation. But hasnt he lost weight? He's like a rake now so he is...and looking good.

Looking very sporting with the blue jeans and trainers. I thought that he had more hair than that though.

It's Ross. He must have been working on the buns. On second thoughts, yes it is Roger!

As part of my Plan of Action for Dover Town (no I'm not being pompous), I was out taking photos of the worst of Dover Town's buildings; I'd just snapped the Best Kebab Shop, just inside Cannon Street and bumped (almost literally) into Howard.
The sad part is that the battery on my camera then went flat, so it's now on charge and I'll have to finish them off tomorrow.
The only problem is that when I've finished it, who do I give it to ? Who will take any notice of it ? Am I wasting my time ?
That's more of a mystery than who was in the photo.

No Roger it is not a waste of time - pass it onto DDC Legal who should be preparing Section 215 letters to land owners whose land or property is adversly affecting the amenity of the area - or were DDC & DTC just pulling our legs and building our hopes up?

time is tight now, councillor pat sheratt was very upbeat about the notices being served when i last saw him.
we all know about the success rate of these notices however the olympic flame is only about 4 months away.
the fountain/water feature is showing no signs of notice too.

I wouldn't have a problem with that Paul if the owners were local, but they aren't. The last time I checked (and I can do so again quite easily) on the ownership of the premises where the Best Kebab House is, they were a property management company in South London - Barnes I think.
The owner of 10 King Street lives in Germany and I understand he has just put the property up for sale - I'll have a look and see what it's up for.
We know Wetherspoons own the building in Castle Street and I wrote to their Property management department yesterday, so am looking for a reply on that one.
I can find out I'm sure who owns the old Shakespeare Hotel and would like to ask them what is happening - I understand the owners are working on a development plan, but when that will come forward I have no idea.
Sarah, I hope I'm not wasting my time, I really do, but something (someone) tells me I am.

Seriously Roger you are not - you just need to work with others around you and be prepared to take on board their views, constructive valid criticism etc. This is not a one man thing, it needs to be a joint activity with all interested and empowered parties pulling together

I think a certain Mr Godden still owns the old arcade and the Crypt side (and possibly the derelict site over the road_

I'll try and find out Paul.
I have never suggested it is or should be a one man band Ross; I am always happy to work with others; nothing successful can be achieved on your own - I know that from experience.

Roger
Why not get in touch with the Dover Society, I know that they have compiled a list of buildings in need of work.

I compiled a list of Dover's worst buildings back in 2007 and many of them are in the same state or worse, Stewart.
I am on the Refurb Committee at the Dover Society, so know what their list is, but they are also looking outside the Town Centre.
If the list is too long, it may endanger getting any of them done, so I have concentrated on those that have the greatest (negative) impact.
I know you and Pat have been working very closely with the Town Council on this Stewart and I know there are talks going on between the two (which I won't talk about on here); things are moving in the right direction - albeit slowly.
