there will be a lot of huffing and puffing from the politicos but the end result will be the airport sold for redevelopment.

Certainly hope not Howard.
I do think that the ban on night-flights had a lot to do with Manston's viability.

Manston is still needed by the R.A.F.in case of war ,and airlines still use it for training.
The RAF is running out of air fields they need and Manston is still very close to France.
So I cannot see it being sold off for housing that is not needed anyway.

Demo. Next Friday Manston Airport 6pm. Be there or be square, i.e. be prepared to lose your local airport without a fight.

never had you down as that type peter - will you chant something along the lines of "What do we want" followed by "when do we want it" culminating in "now"?

Well Howard, I have done 2 demos in my life. Dover Hospital and the march against the prison at Connaught Barracks. I only take part when I am really committed to a cause. I do feel that a respectful silence is more effective than the chanting you mention, but you have to go with the flow. Hopefully lots of sundry MPs and councillors will be there from all over Kent. How about you?

I won't be there peter, the 2 you mention were very different to the manston scenario.
I was present both times as the targets were politicians and/or those in authority that need to be loved/voted for.
the manston issue is very different where the target has ultimate responsibility to the shareholders and no real interest in courting popularity.

The whole thing's been a shambles from start to finish. As the Mail reports states it'll probably be developed for housing. It could be worse and end up like that utterly useless green eco project set to be built nearby. Biofuel nonsense and solar panels and a laughably projected job creation figure.

Probably because Mrs. Stagecoach can see more more money for her pockets if it is developed for housing.
