  I know these lists are a bit silly and I don't suppose there is much serious research involved in compiling them. The outlets listed were sit down restaurants rather the local chippie. This is a positive recommendation for Dover in the national press. Deal was declared best High Street by the Daily Telegraph and local businesses and organisations were quick to use that in their literature. We all know that Deal is lovely, but I can think of many small towns that have much better High Streets. This is the sort of publicity that we need for Dover to encourage people to visit the town and use its businesses when they are passing through. Dover town centre will only regenerate if people, local and visitors, are encouraged to use the town and its businesses.
