rather than start a seperate thread the only flags of st george i saw today other than the town council offices were 4 on each corner of a taxi.
the wetherspoon pub in herne bay flew the union flag on orders from head office, are we ashamed of being english?
the rest of the united kingdom show no reticence about their nationality.

st paddy's day, other than this year, sees pubs bedecked in green and flogging guiness and murphy's, even getting late licences.
it was frowned upon when i lived in ilford, to fly it during world cups, the brown people were not offended just the english elite/chattering classes.

I noticed quite a few St George Cross flags flying in Ladywell & the Rack of Ale was decked out with the barstaff all dressed up for the occasion as 'wenches'

Normally we have a St George's flag flying on our house but this year we donated it to the Rack of Ale.
