A real problem where I live and getting worse by the week. Every Saturday recently unsecured bags of rubbish are dumped around the corner to me in Longfield, the supposedly upmarket flats in the old Westbury pub have wheelie bins that are totally overloaded with the excess rubbish being blown all around the side streets. Sofas, tables, a tumble dryer and a cupboard have all been dumped in different locations over the past week or so. Today 3 black bags of rubbish were dumped behind the Longfield B & B in Belgrave Rd, DDC do a reasonable job once it is reported but really fighting a losing battle. The HMO's on the Folkestone Road are still a mess at the front, don't expect any improvement there though.

Unless the council take major action with this,i doubt if things will ever get better, very few ever get successfully prosecuted for fly tipping.

Very unlikely to catch people in the act but in the case of bin bags I think there is a strong case for opening them up and going through to find possible identification. Not a job I would volunteer for I hasten to add but a bonus paid to a staff member who retrieves the info would be in order.
