They never collect that much in River. i've heard it said that many "villagers" can peel an orange in their pocket.

Thought I had the dates wrong earlier when loud music and flashing lights alerted me, turned out to be Dover Lions with a truck.
The fire persons one comes around my way tomorrow night.

It takes to much fuel to come out here its all the cutbacks they have to make.
But we will miss them they would come down our close to the nursing home and sing it was good and all the home and staff would come out into the carpark.

Just a reminder of the floats coming round tonight to the Maxton and Clarendon areas.

I remember the day after I moved to Dover in 1983 a week before Christmas. My husband was at work and I was alone with my then 9 month old baby, missing my old friends and feeling sorry for myself. Then I heard the sound of carols and a knock on my door - it was the firemen and Father Christmas! It made me and my little boy so very happy and they have come here every December since then too.
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

Tonight's area is Aycliffe, as an aside a fire engine stopped outside my house on Wednesday evening to gauge whether Clarendon Street was wide enough to take the float, they would never attempt Clarendon Place which is the longest unbroken terrace on the UK mainland. Makes me wonder how they would tackle a fire there.

In case it doesn't get up there here is what it looked like earlier Brian. Play loud music and keep switching your light on and off and it will feel like the same thing.
