    Dover Youth Theatre Drama and Dance workshops commence next Tuesday 16th Sept at 4pm at The Salem Baptist Church Hall at 4pm for the autumn term. There are four drama levels age 6-10 age 10-13 13-15 and Senior Drama and two dance.levels Junior and Senior Theatre Dance .Classes are £60 a term per discipline with a limit of 15 students per class and are on a first come- first served basis. Among the highlights this term are the Senior Play in November and a Christmas Presentaion in December. We are delighted that our choreographer Ashley Taylor (pictured- photo Marie Kelly-Thomas) was awarded Best Actress for her film TREFFEN in the FOR THE FALLEN FILM Festival in July . We had an extremely busy summer term which culminated in the acclaimed World War 1 Centenary Commemoration Event on August 1st at Samphire Hoe "At the going Down of the Sun " Before that

    the students of Dover Youth Theatre treated the audience to a super show at The Fiat Lux Theatre (Dover Grammar School for Boys ) for their end of year performance on July 18th - Bravo to all involved on a wild and stormy night the perfect setting for the premiere of Dan Drysdale's play THE SEA'S ARMS - our thanks to The Chairman of Dover District Council Councillor Sue Nicholas for providing and judging the Drama prizes - congratulations to Jude Beamont and Stanley Lawson- McGregor level 1 drama and to Katie Holdstock and Miriam Smart - Level 2 Drama . The dance prizes were provided by the Mayor of Dover Councillor Pamela Brivio and judged and awarded by Councillor Anne Smith . Congratulations to Richie George - Junior Dance and Tilly Penn - senior dance. The programme ranged from "The Boy who cried Wolf" to an extract from 101 Dalmations., The Babysitter - Legally Blonde , Annie get your Gun and Tarzan.
    Congratulations also to the students who took Trinity Drama and Performance Exams at The Guildhall School in London ; Tristan Logan - Initial Distinction Tilly Penn - Grade 3 Merit Miriam Smart - Grade 3 Distinction Imogen Kelly-Thomas Grade 5 Merit and Freda Lawson King - Intermediate Performance Certificate .
