    Chrissi, I agree wholeheartedly, and it would be best for Dover if the politicians butted out of the most important decisions in Dover. But the bombing memorial is a Deal thing, best left respectfully to those of Deal and those of the RM and their families who have private and personal reasons to remember the outrage. If I were to attend the memorial service or the beating of the retreat I would feel as if I were attending the funeral of a stranger and intruding on private grief.

    Having said that, obviously those in positions of civic responsibility ought to be there, leading the tributes.
