Always a difficult one with so many worthy people but in my view the success of the past two music festivals leads me to look to them for inspiration.
Just as a starter I would like to nominate "Wild Timmy Waggy and the Spinners" with their big hit "Pierbusters" - yo dudes.

I thought there would have been many posts by now on this, we have so many excellent groups and individuals that give up their time to make events happen or help out those who need support.

Maybe the fact that so many groups that used to update us on here on what they were doing and don't any more has lessened the interest?

Exactly my thoughts Brian.
Crabble Corn Mill are the only group that has any interest in keeping us informed via Harry even EKR seem to have lost interest since they got that large grant

Thanks Ray, it is nice to receive information about what is going on with any of our local groups.
BTW I feel sorry for all those taking part in the 1st river clean up, loads of rubbish including part of the car that went for a swim.

Much appreciated Ray.
East Kent Railways springs to mind first but also Western Heights Preservation Society, Big Local, Connaught Park Appreciation group, Dover Community Garden remember them? Sue keeps us up to date with performances from Dover Youth Theatre, there must be others that have drifted away. Dover branch of the Royal British Legion is up and running now too.

Does anyone remember "Brighter Dover" a Town Council initiative?
A lady called Sylvie Parsons took it upon herself to fill the empty town centre planters with an array of flowers, putting pressure on councils to supply the plants she tended them and various retailers done their bit by watering them when needed. The crowning glory was the work done on the Market Square planters at which the dignitaries all came along for the photo opportunity.
I believe "Brighter Dover" was soon closed down but I have seen Mrs Parsons working at the front of St Edmunds Chapel.

Nominations close tomorrow and the word on the street is that the "Person's Port" has been surprisingly left out of the list of finalists.

Let me try a more worthy local group that would qualify - Dover Town Council orchestra's rendition of one of our greatest composer's works "The Planner's Suite" conducted by Neil Rix of course and accompanied by Pam Brivio, Roger Walkden and Ronnie Philpott. Neil will get the contract for pulling down the studio after the recording.
