Looked out this morning and saw what I first thought was a large fox due to the shape of the tail/brush.
When it turned around to face me it was clearly a cat.
If I hadjust seen a silhouette in the dark I would have assumed it to have been another specie, expect the odd "sighting" to be announced.

Thanks for putting everyone's mind at rest Brian, we shall all sleep well tonight for knowing that.

Strange that, I thought I saw a large black 'feline' on the hills opposite last week, sitting near some shrubbery. By the time I had gone to the next room and back for binoculars it had disappeared.

This one was nearer to tabby than any other description Ray. I was just that bit too slow to get a photo. Wouldn't have been clear with the kitchen window in front of me but would have given an idea of size which I would estimate at 2 feet long.
The more I think of it I can remember reading of another cat that size somewhere in the Midlands and it sparked off phone calls to the police.
I suppose if we ask the owner where it sleeps, the answer would come back "anywhere it chooses to".

Quoting Howard, 'It was 2 feet long'.unquote.
That narrows it down a bit Howard. If the other 2 feet were short, it's a Wallaby!

I remember around 10 years ago there was similar sightings out at Studdel. There had been many sightings of a big cat and someone i think had taken plaster casts of footprints, there may have been photos i cant remember.I think Dover express ran a story on it.Come to think of it,could have been 20 years ago.

Must have been the first cat to enter my garden and leave unscathed, mine kept a watching brief.
