DIAMOND JUBILEE COMMUNITY TEA PARTY
As Dover District continues to prepare to celebrate The Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the Chairman of Dover District Council is thanking everyone who came along to the Community Tea Party event at Dover Town Hall on Thursday 10 May.
The event was held for residents to get together to celebrate The Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and to share memories of The Queen ascending to the throne and of the Coronation. The celebration was organised by the Chairman of Dover District Council, Cllr Sue Nicholas, who invited Town and Parish Councils to select members of the community to come along. There was a range of entertainment, including St Edmund's School performers, and students from K College made a special Diamond Jubilee cake.
Communities across Dover District continue to prepare to celebrate the Jubilee, with a range of celebrations around the extended weekend on 2, 3, 4 and 5 June. A Big Jubilee Lunch is being held at the Big Screen Live Site in Dover Market Square on Sunday 3 June, and communities across the area are organising a range of events.

Cllr Sue Nicholas, Chairman of Dover District Council said: "The Community Tea Party was a great success, and we thank everyone who came along and all those who helped to organise the event. We have already had a number of cards and comments from people saying how much they appreciated the afternoon. Communities continue to prepare for the Jubilee, with a range of events taking place across the area, and we look forward to welcoming this special occasion, and to further celebrating The Queen's Diamond Jubilee in Dover District."
