Strangely enough it is Winter so I always expect it to be cold with possible frost and snow, the Express always gives over the top weather predictions so that is nothing new.

The Independent is carrying the same prediction as the Express but the BBC website just shows normal weather.

A lot of these 'heavy' snowfalls causing traffic chaos all over the country are what we used to call a sprinkling when I was a kid growing up in North Derbyshire.

Another case of a newspaper not allowing the facts to get in the way of a good story.

On the BBC news - New York bracing itself for 3ft in the next 24 hours - just like Dover 1963 - anyone of a certain age will recall how long that lasted - I doubt today's 'texting' generation will know how to cope - bring it on!
Just my opinion.

Thank you so much Peter for that very kind offer but shopping will not be a problem as my daughter will do it for me.
Snow or ice just means I will catch up on all my recorded TV progs or play even more computer games than I do now, it will not mean I do more housework.
