Diesel Gala, Bus Rally and Beer Festival at the East Kent Railway

The East Kent Railway is organising one of its largest events ever over the weekend of the 26th and 27th July 2014.

Join us as we team up with Dover Transport Museum to provide a real festival of heritage transport in the idyllic Kent countryside. The railway will be running its popular Diesel Gala and Beer Festival over the weekend, and on the Sunday will be teaming up with the Dover Transport Museum to provide vintage bus rides between Eythone station and the Museum at Whitfield for our combined 'Bus Rally.'

The EKR will be running an intensive service, using all available Diesel locomotives from industries all over the country.

There will be real ale and cider on offer at both Shepherdswell and Eythorne stations as well as Café's and a Hog Roast provided by Alkham Valley Hog Roasts.

The event also sees the official relaunch into service of our Class 205 'Thumper' unit 1101 which will be making its first public outing since 2005.

There will be activities for all the family, including miniature and model railways, woodland walks and museums. Colonel's Café at Shepherdswell will be providing hot meals, with the newly opened café at Eythorne serving snacks and sandwiches.
Ticket prices will be £10 Adults, £8 Seniors, £5 Children and Families £25, which includes unlimited train travel, access to all events around the site plus bus rides and entry to the Dover Transport Museum on the Sunday.
